Progress privacy notice.
Last updated 27 August 2026. This notice explains how Progress Nutrition Coaching uses information across its website, iOS and Android apps and private coaching service.
What we collect
Depending on how you use Progress, we collect account and contact details; coaching applications and agreements; goals, check-ins, food and nutrition records; weight, activity, sleep, workout and wellbeing information; messages, tasks, appointments, resources and coach feedback; and photos or files you choose to upload. We also process notification identifiers, security and audit records, and limited diagnostic and app-interaction data needed to operate and protect the service.
Why we use it
We use this information to respond to enquiries, provide personalised nutrition coaching, maintain your diary and progress history, enable secure client–coach communication, deliver requested notifications, improve service reliability and meet legal, safeguarding and security obligations. Progress does not sell personal information or use health information for advertising.
Health, photos and AI-assisted features
Apple Health and Health Connect data is accessed only for categories you choose to permit. Imported observations remain distinct from values you confirm manually and are used to simplify check-ins and coaching context. Photos are uploaded only when you choose them. Some meal, check-in and plan information may be processed by an AI service to create estimates, summaries or private drafts. Clients confirm meal estimates, and coaching output is reviewed by a coach before it is shared or used to change a plan.
Who can access it
Your information is available only to you, your assigned coach and authorised operators who need it to provide or secure Progress. We use service providers for authentication and database hosting, private file storage, website hosting, email and push delivery, error monitoring and, where enabled, AI-assisted processing. These providers process information on our behalf under appropriate contractual and security controls. Food searches may query public food-catalogue services without sending your coaching record.
Storage and retention
Information is encrypted in transit and protected by account, role and record-level access controls. Unsuccessful coaching applications are removed after 90 days. Active coaching records are retained while needed to provide the service and for applicable legal, accounting, safeguarding, dispute and security periods. Local offline drafts expire automatically. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer required, subject to legitimate backup and legal-retention requirements.
Your choices and rights
To request deletion without the app, visit our account and data deletion page.
You can manage notification and health permissions at any time. You can ask for access to or a copy of your information, request correction, object to or restrict certain processing, or request account deletion. Clients can start an export or deletion request from Account → Manage account & privacy in Progress. Prospective clients can reply to the coaching response they received. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Children and changes
Progress is not directed to children under 13. We may update this notice as the service or its legal obligations change; the current version and update date will remain available on this page.
